Message from our Chairman, Todd Handcock

In light of the current COVID-19 coronavirus, I want to share the measures the Chamber has adopted to support our members, staff, and Canadian community in Hong Kong.

We have been liaising closely with the Information Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Canadian Consulate in Hong Kong and Macao, and other credible sources to curate reliable and relevant content for our members. We are currently working with our members, AD MediLink and Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital, to share the latest insights on the coronavirus in Hong Kong through our communication channels. For example, we have recently shared the latest measures taken by the government and valuable tips to work effectively and safely. We will continue to communicate this information to our members and via social media channels, where appropriate. To best serve our members, we will be providing the most up-to-date information of the impacts of the coronavirus available on our website. Such information will include updates on travel advisories, international flights, postal services and education bureau notices.

Similar to other government and private sectors, we have postponed previously scheduled events and face to face meetings as a safety precaution. Likewise, we have adopted a flexible working arrangement for our Chamber staff to work from home. We are reviewing these decisions regularly as we closely monitor the evolving circumstances of COVID-19. Please be assured that all staff members are reachable through email and are happy to answer any questions and concerns that our valuable members may have.

The Chamber aims to be a helpful resource for the Canadian community during this time. Our outlook remains positive and we hope the collective knowledge and efforts of the Chamber and its members can be of assistance in maintaining stability and resilience. Together with your help and contribution, we will continue to drive Hong Kong forward to a successful future.
