We will continue to update this list of Mentors, so stay tuned! This Mentorship Program is open to CanChamHK Members and Non-Members. 

Please note that Mentors listed on this website are not confirmed as this is dependent on the number of  pairings. All Mentors & Mentees are invited to attend the Launch Ceremony (date to be confirmed). They will have a chance to speak with one another and Mentees will submit their Mentor preference after the event.

She is a leader, mentor and coach with strong communication, analytical and organizational skills. Prior to founding Alpha Grand Group, Carol held senior positions with a number of international financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered, Citigroup and HSBC Group. Carol has diversified experience in the international financial sector. "Dan manages, leads, follows, and works alongside everyone while following a simple rule of thumb: Everyone knows something you don’t. He aims to always think critically and logically while listening carefully and compassionately. Dan has been in HK for 11 years having worked in several industries, a large proportion being in education and now in Scotch whisky trading. He grew up in a town called Comox on Vancouver Island, Canada. He plays hockey and golf regularly and played in a handful of bands in his younger years, primarily playing drums and guitar."

"Dave Yip is the Founder and President of Gamatech Limited. Dave has over 35 years of experience in the information technology industry, including over 10 years in the banking sector with an additional 15-plus years focused on the Identity and Access Management (IAM) space. Ella Cheong

"Mr. CHAN is a digital, social media, public engagement and communication specialist. He has extensive knowledge of social media and public relations, he maintains good relationship with key online media and social media platforms across the region. He joined higher education institutions as Senior Lecturer since 2020, currently in his doctorate fellowship in CUHK. Given his rich experience and direct involvement in the evolution of regional social media, Mr. CHAN witnessed that social news took only five years to become the norm, half the time which IBM predicted in 2010. Mr. CHAN is one of the very few key players in the public sector utilizing and maximizing social media and digital communication, both for stakeholder engagement (proactive) and issue management for crisis prevention (defensive). Prior to joining BMO, Fang was the COO at ANZ Bank (China) Co. Ltd. after progressive promotions within ANZ Banking Group in Melbourne, Australia. As the Chief Executive of BMO Hong Kong Branch (Designated), Fang provides leadership and oversight to develop and execute strategy to grow the banking business in the Hong Kong branch. Fang is also passionate about making a positive impact within her community. She is the Executive Ambassador leading BMO Employee Giving Campaign in Asia. "Gary is a Canadian, who has been in the insurance industry- risk management - for many years. He has resided and worked in Canada, Bahamas, Singapore, Dubai and Hong Kong. He is a father to a 22-year-old who is currently studying microbiology in Canada. Gary enjoys his current role and when he's not working, he cycles up to 100 kms per week. He is a patron of the Hong Kong ballet and a collector of watches."

"Hodson provides risk oversight of all BMO businesses in Asia (excluding China). In addition, Hodson was named Alternate Chief Executive for BMO Hong Kong Branch in March 2021 to assist in the supervision of the Branch’s key businesses, internal controls, and risk management. He has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the Canadian banking industry. Prior to joining BMO, Hodson was based in Singapore as Head of Market Risk for TD Bank. Before relocating to Asia in 2008, he spent 9 years at both TD and Scotiabank in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance & Economics and completed the CFA program and was awarded the CFA charter."

JEFFREY HAU

"Jeffrey leads the risk and compliance practice at Protiviti Hong Kong with more than 20 years of regulatory compliance advisory and audit experience. He advises clients on regulatory controls and compliance advisory, internal audit, licensing, operational resilience, FATCA and CRS among other areas of compliance risk management and covers the financial sectors in Hong Kong and China. Since moving to Hong Kong in 2013, he has led a number of regulator-driven projects including health checks, look-backs and remediation exercises. He has helped clients obtain new licenses for wealth and insurance activities and build new operating models including robo-advisory and online investment platforms. Prior to joining Protiviti, Jeffrey was a Partner at KPMG. He was responsible for regulatory, compliance and risk management advisory, internal audit, operational enhancement and performance improvement."

"Dr. Cheh received a Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Political Science from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Economics, specializing in International Trade Policy, from M.I.T. After teaching a course on International Economics at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, he began his career in 1974 at the Treasury Board and Privy Council Office of the Government of Canada. Between 1980 and 1993, he served as Commercial Counsellor in Beijing and Seoul, and Minister Counsellor (Economic) in Tokyo with Canada’s Department of External Affairs and International Trade. He also worked for two years as the Executive Director of the Canada-China Trade Council in 1985 and 1986. In 1994, Dr. Cheh moved to Hong Kong as the President, Asia, of Bell Canada International Inc., in charge of strategic telecommunications investments and mergers and acquisitions activities. In 2001, he became the President of Bombardier China, overseeing both its aircraft and railcar divisions. In 2003, Dr. John Cheh joined the Esquel Group, a global textile and apparel manufacturer, and became Esquel’s Vice Chairman and CEO in 2007, until his retirement at the end of 2020. Dr. Cheh is currently a Board member of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation, a member of the Asia Business Leaders Advisory Council and the Board of Governors of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. In 2012, the University of Western Ontario conferred a Honourary LL.D. degree on Dr. Cheh in recognition of his expertise in trade and labour issues."

Simon Blanchet

"Simon built his career from developing cryptographic software to being a cybersecurity leader working across 3 continents over the past 23+ years including 15+ year in Banking IT.  He is currently a Security Architect for the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) responsible for Application Security, Cloud Security and DevSecOps.  Before joining HKJC, he was the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Serai, a wholly-owned subsidiary tech start-up by HSBC where he was responsible for the strategy, direction and daily operations of the cybersecurity team.  Prior Serai, he was the Director of Threat Vulnerability Surface of Attack at Block.one / Bullish where his responsibilities included vulnerability assessments, periodic penetration tests, bug bounty, security configuration compliance and remediation efforts.  He also spent 10 years with HSBC in various Information Security and Cybersecurity roles both in Switzerland and Hong Kong.  In his last role at HSBC, he was leading Security Testing globally for the bank, managing over 70 internal pen testers. Originally from Québec (Canada), Simon holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science Engineering Option from Université Laval.  He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).  Simon is also a seasoned public speaker who has talked at major events including BSIMM Europe, AppSec Forum Switzerland and DragonCon Hong Kong.  He can speak multiple languages including French, Spanish and basic Cantonese.  He currently lives in Hong Kong with his wife and son."

Prior to Facebook, Wallace built his great passion and expertise on products through various international product and program management experiences.
