It was an honour to see our Chairman, Alex Tam take part in Canadian Finance Minister Franรงois-Philippe Champagne's recent trip to China โ€“ a critical dialogue at a pivotal time for bilateral trade and investment.

Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem and Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) Superintendent Peter Routledge were also in Beijing together with the Finance Minister.

While participating in his capacity at CIBC, Alex's role as CanChamHK Chairman underscores our Chamber's commitment to fostering constructive, highโ€‘level engagement between Canada and China.

We were equally proud to see strong CanChamHK representation from our Governor and sponsors: Phil Witherington (Manulife, Governor of CanChamHK), Vincent Joli-Coeur (Chairman, Asia Pacific, National Bank of Canada), Kevin Strain (President & Chief Executive Officer, Sun Life) and Chris Taves, Bank of Montreal (BMO).

Special mention as well to Alex for his contributions on the ground, and to the broader leadership team from Manulife, National Bank of Canada, Sun Life, Bank of Montreal (BMO) and our other key sponsors who joined the mission.

CanChamHK continues to support our members and the broader business community in navigating this critical relationship.
