Monthly Committee Round Up: November
In November, CanCham hosted several impactful events, including sessions focused on entrepreneurship, innovation in AI, and community building.
Members celebrated the holiday season together, reflecting on past successes while planning for future initiatives. The month emphasized collaboration and support among professionals, fostering a vibrant network within the organization.
The Education Committee members met with Roger Francis from the University of Toronto during his visit to Hong Kong in November. We explored collaboration opportunities to support the internship program, particularly for U of T students.
At the November 19 ESBC meeting, the 7th Members Mentoring Members session focused on Founders and Start-ups: Growing and Marketing a Business. It was fantastic to see everyone come together—like a homecoming while gaining new knowledge and making new friends!
A huge thank you to Co-chairs Jovan and Ron for organizing another inspiring event! They hosted Dr. Rhonda McEwen, President and Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University (UofT), for an exclusive gathering of UofT alumni and CanCham members. The event focused on AI: Opportunities, Ethics, and Public Sentiments on Safety.
Additionally, the Innovation Committee represented CanCham as a key organizer behind the Asia Technology Entrepreneurship Conference (ATEC), one of the largest university alumni club-led technology conferences and startup competitions in Asia.
Many of our MarComm members attended our Autumn Fête signature event to celebrate the upcoming holiday season! It was wonderful to see members connecting with each other and building strong relationships across committees.
Concluded its meeting schedule for 2024 on November 22, reflecting on the year’s events and brainstorming ideas for the upcoming year. Excitingly, membership continues to grow with younger CanCham members joining, highlighting the importance of sustainability as a key theme in today's world.
The TWN hosted its Annual Breakfast Meet and Greet, sponsored by Tanner De Witt. The session focused on creating a community for women to network, support each other in their careers and businesses, and learn skills to enhance their journeys to success.
Thank you to all CanCham members for your continued support and contributions. We look forward to more engaging events and initiatives in December! If you're interested in joining any of our committees, please reach out at webadmin@cancham.org.
