Raised in London, England and now based in Toronto, Neil Bartlett is SVP of Data and Analytics at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Canada's largest bank by market capitalisation, where he is leading the transformation to a technology and analytics-driven culture.
In this event hosted by Technology Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Neil will discuss the effort to build out RBC's industry-leading data and analytics capabilities, the strategy for developing real-time, predictive and prescriptive analytic tools for the banking industry and the work on incorporating the latest advancements in machine learning, AI and cognitive computing for improved business decision-making.
Prior to RBC, Neil was CTO and Head of Development for Algorithmics, a Toronto-based company founded in 1989 that provided risk management software to financial institutions. At its peak, Algorithmics served more than 350 clients, including 25 of the world's 30 largest banks. Algorithmics was acquired by IBM in 2011, where Neil continued his career and was made an IBM Fellow in 2013. A great Canadian innovation story, Neil will reflect on his 13-year career at Algorithmics and its lessons for the latest crop of FinTech start-ups.
