Innovation in Education – Developing our Future Workforce

June 8, 2017, 18:00-20:30

-

In this new series BritCham is exploring innovations in the field of better business - doing the right things in the right way. Each event will adopt a different theme, and aims to connect all interested players in the ecosystem - a first for Hong Kong - from start-ups and NGOs through established businesses to members of government, academia and the investment community.

The first event, held Oct 2016, focused on the evolution of work. From co-working spaces and hot desks that are improving the traditional work place model through improving flexible and part-time working, to developments in AI and Robotics that are set to cause a huge shift in manpower needs and what gets done by whom in the future. The event was extremely successful and we are now building on this success with the second event in the series…..

Focused on Innovation in Education, the event will be exploring what is being done, and what more needs to be done, to ensure that Hong Kong’s workforce is best-positioned to drive Hong Kong’s future success. From innovative new approaches to primary and secondary education, and new developments in the tertiary education sector, we will be hearing from various members of the education system and governing bodies, student groups, start-up innovators, investors and academia on what’s going on, as well as from established companies on how they see their employment needs changing and what this means for the education system going forward. Securing the right talent and the right skills is a major preoccupation of many Hong Kong employers, and for many a major challenge, so this event aims to focus particularly on what more needs to be done and how innovation can help.

Who should attend: companies and employers looking at talent acquisition and development and their future workforce needs, as well as anyone interested in the innovation of education, CSR, social innovation, what is currently going on in Hong Kong and, those interested in helping make Hong Kong an even better place to work. This will be a fun, interactive and highly engaging event, not to be missed.
