Alberta's Industrial Heartland is Canada's largest hydrocarbon processing center and is located in the Greater Edmonton Region. The Edmonton Region is the fifth largest metropolitan region in Canada.

Alberta's Industrial Heartland is one of the fastest growing industrial regions in North America with over $25 billion in investment planned in the near future. Coupled with Western Canada's world-scale shale gas deposits centered in the Montney and Duvernay regions and existing pipeline infrastructure, Alberta's Industrial Heartland has tremendous opportunities for petrochemical development.
