However, insurance has never been the most transparent industry; there are certain myths and misconceptions that may deter one from purchasing the most financially sound plan, or even avoiding purchase entirely.

Jim Wang is a Business Development Director at Groveland Financial Services Limited, an insurance brokerage firm and a member of the Professional Insurance Brokers Association (PIBA).

Jim holds a B.A. in economics from Brown University and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Prior to joining Groveland, he spent many years as a professional US equities trader before moving onto various roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland and J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong. He enjoys basketball, traveling, and trying different restaurants and cuisines. He is also known to appreciate a good "deal", whether shopping for sneakers, electronics or medical insurance.
