ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Patrick Bennett
Head of FICC Strategy – Asia, Global Markets

Mr. Bennett joined CIBC in 2011 as Head of FX Strategy – Asia with our Macro Strategy group. He has over 20 years of experience in FX and markets strategy and has spent more than 15 years in Asia in both Singapore and Hong Kong, previously holding positions at several large European banks. At CIBC he covers Asia-Pacific currencies and contributes to research on rates and markets. Mr. Bennett plays a key role in CIBC’s efforts to deliver innovative research and tactical trade ideas which are integral to building strong client relationships and growing our core businesses.
 

Will Li
Founder and Chief Investment Officer 
Ocean Arete Limited
Will is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Ocean Arete Limited, which manages hedge funds using discretionary global macro strategies. Will was born in China and grew up there until he went to the United States to attend Philips Exeter Academy at age 15. Before founding Ocean Arete in 2012 he had over 14 years of experience working for prominent global investment banks. For 12 of the 14 years, he was based in Hong Kong and primarily focused on raising international financing for leading Chinese companies. He was promoted to Managing Director at UBS Investment Bank in 2006. Will holds a BA, magna cum laude, in Economics and East Asian Studies from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR

Maryann Tseng

Maryann Tseng is a seasoned investment banker with her professional experiences in Asia formerly with Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank and latest now she is the Head of ECM, Managing Director at China Merchants Securities with product specialties in Asia markets in particular. Maryann's experiences have spanned across equity markets, structured finance products, private equity and corporate finance, with deals executed across a variety of capital structures, focusing on servicing institutional investors and family offices globally. Maryann is also the Co-Chair for the Chamber's Financial Services Committee.
