The Chamber Wishes You a Happy Holiday!

CANCHAM Message from CanChamHK Leadership, News

Todd Handcock

Chairman,
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

Season’s Greetings

From The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

As we embark on the second decade of the 21st century, there is a lot to be grateful for and to look forward to despite these unusual times. With the combined efforts of some of our key sponsors, Executive Committee, Chamber Secretariat, and the wider Chamber Community the Canadian Chamber in Hong Kong membership now stands at 1,200. But it’s not just about the number, an increased membership gives members more opportunity to make connections, in Hong Kong, China and Canada. It also gives members a significantly heightened reach when sharing their services, products and value propostions.

We are also grateful for the work of our Committees, the lifeblood of the Chamber, who tirelessly organize insightful events pertinent to their sectors. This year, we welcomed the formation of the Policy and Government Relations Committee who has been focusing on policy and business matters of multi-faceted and strategic interest to members. As a new year’s resolution, I encourage you to get involved with one or maybe even two Committees!

I would be remiss to not mention the effect that the recent unrest has had on the Chamber and indeed our members. Like many other organizations, the Chamber has had to adjust course but in effect, it has motivated us to bring more value to a CanChamHK membership. Next year, you will see more high-touch events and opportunities to connect you with established and emerging leaders in the private and public sectors. Through our renewed communications, you will learn more about the other members in your CanChamHK community allowing you to make those valuable connections. Our efforts to further expand our membership will continue steadily in the new year through some innovative initiatives currently being worked on.

Our Ball Committee is currently working hard to bring you another amazing Annual Ball which is scheduled for May 16, 2020 – the theme is the “Roaring 20’s” and tickets are on sale now!

As we start to wind down for the holidays, on behalf of the Executive Committee, I wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and relaxing holiday season and a prosperous new year.
