Thank you to all those who came out for the mine tour on Saturday! We had a wonderful time hiking and learning about the Ma On Shan landscape and history.
Did you know that only 1/3 of the ore within Ma On Shan was mined? The remaining 2/3rds was left when it became too expensive to extract.
Chamber members and friends got to see both an underground and an open pit mine, and for the last stop of our tour we hiked up the mountain where we were greeted with a spectacular view of Sai Kung. A special thank you to the Natural Resources Committee for organizing, and for our guides Jackie and Henry, who shared their knowledge and expertise with us as we explored this special corner of Hong Kong.
