They are a diverse and vibrant group, with financial services, technology companies and consumer brands particularly well represented. Canadian SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) also flourish, particularly in the areas of information and communications technology, sustainable technologies, transportation, agri-food and professional services.
There are also strong historic people-to-people ties between Hong Kong and Canada. Currently, it is estimated that there are close to 300,000 Canadian passport holders living in the Hong Kong SAR and another 500,000 Hongkongers in Canada.
