To be Hong Kong’s pre-eminent business organization for networking and policy representation.

Our Mission

  • To promote commerce between Hong Kong and Canada and among our members.
  • The Chamber will connect our members with each other and with outside partners to enable them to prosper from the opportunities they pursue in the marketplaces of Hong Kong, Canada, China and across Asia.
  • The Chamber will effectively represent members' views on relevant policy issues to the governments of HK and Canada.
  • As Hong Kong is the most "Canadian” city in Asia, Canada’s economy is one of the most international in the world, and Hong Kong is Canada’s gateway to China, we aim to make both Hong Kong and Canada stronger, more competitive and more connected to each other.

Membership

We will embrace a diverse membership, and actively grow our membership to the mutual benefit of new and current members.

Advocacy

We will be our members’ strongest voice to the Hong Kong and Canadian governments on public policy issues of member concern.

Networking

The Chamber will provide networking benefits to our members in the form of events, Committee structures and technologies to create the maximum possible interaction and communication in our community.

Financial Strength

We will manage our affairs to maintain a strong fiscal position and an ability to reinvest in benefits for our members.

Our Membership Strategy

We will embrace a diverse membership, and actively grow our membership to the mutual benefit of new and current members.

  • We will maintain a strong SME and Entrepreneur component in our membership.
  • We will remain welcoming to non-Canadians.
  • We will continue to target professionals, entrepreneurs, and other categories of individual members.
  • We will aggressively target second generation, rising Canadians, Canadian alumni and other Hong Kong residents with strong Canadian ties in the business community.
  • We will strengthen our systems to identify changes in member priorities, identify how they value the Chamber and uncover our weaknesses to correct.
  • We will monitor membership satisfaction and examples of concrete benefits arising from networking.
  • We will seek to develop the membership such that each addition to the membership lends to the strength of the Hong Kong Canada business community and the mission of The Chamber.

Our Advocacy Strategy

We will be our members’ strongest voice to the Hong Kong and Canadian governments on public policy issues of member concern.

  • We will monitor political developments to stay aware of policy decisions that may impact our membership. ·
  • We will survey the membership to assess the impact of policy issues on them.
  • The Chamber will work with the membership, technical specialists and other partners to craft constructive position statements.
  • The Chamber commits to increasing its capability to speaking out in an effective manner on issues related to the membership.
  • We will focus on 1-3 issues at a time and develop an expertise in them.

Our Networking Strategy

The Chamber will provide networking benefits to our members in the form of events, Committee structures and technologies to create the maximum possible interaction and communication in our community.

  • We will identify the networking opportunities for each event and provide opportunities for face to face introductions through events. ·
  • We are committed to supporting vibrant Committees through their Chair. These committees will connect members through events, advise on policy and educate the membership in their area of expertise.
  • The Chamber will create opportunities for members to meet in specialized forums for their sector interests, operational needs and business education purposes.
  • We will apply modern technology to allow members to seek out those introductions that may benefit them.

Our Finance Strategy

We will manage our affairs to maintain a strong fiscal position and an ability to reinvest in benefits to our members.

  • We will broaden our revenue sources to avoid dependence on too few sources.
  • We will clearly identify metrics important to continued fiscal strength.
  • The Chamber will establish cash reserves against future needs and contingencies.
