China’s “Internet Plus” initiative, announced by Premier Li Keqiang at parliamentary sessions at the March National People’s Congress, aims to integrate the mobile Internet, big data analytics, cloud computing and the Internet of Things with modern manufacturing.
Dr. Song Li is an investment banker-turned Internet entrepreneur. He founded Zhenai Inc., the largest Internet dating service operator in China, currently with nearly 100 million registered members. Zhenai has been voted No. 1 brand in the Online Dating category in 2013 and 2014 by the prestigious China Power Brand Index sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Information and Industry.
Song studied molecular genetics at Cornell University, and obtained a Ph.D. in finance from Columbia.
In his pre-entrepreneurial life, Song was a vice president of fixed income derivatives at Bear Stearns in New York, and an executive director of equity derivatives at Morgan Stanley Asia in Hong Kong.
Song has been featured by prominent international and national TV media including CNN, CNBC, Tokyo TV and CCTV, and he is currently a member of the Decision-Making Advisory Council of the Shenzhen Municipal Government.
