Measuring Mineral Resources:Get the dirt here!

In the mining industry, for investment professionals and casual investors, we often hear about mineral resources. What does that actually mean? Noted expert and Senior Managing Director Asia of Behre Dolbear, Alastair McIntyre, will share his knowledge and insight with us:
  • What isa Mineral Resource and an Ore Reserve?
  • JORC Code and other international reporting standards
  • Uses of Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve estimates
  • Current Mineral Resource & Ore Reserve reporting practices
  • Reviewing and understanding technical reports and why it is crucial to industry professionals
  • Comparing Western and Chinese measurement systems and identifying their pitfalls

Presented jointly by Cancham NRC and CIM Hong Kong MES Chapter, this session will be of interest to investors, professionals and anyone interested in the mineral industry. No technical expertise will be required to learn about this interesting topic. The session is a precursor to a second session on Mineral Valuation planned for April.
