About the Event:
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong is delighted to invite you to a presentation with Philippe Espinasse, author of "IPO: A Global Guide", a practical guide to conducting an initial public offering for issuers, entrepreneurs, market practitioners and students. He is also the author of "IPO Banks: Pitch, Selection and Mandate", in which he offers suggestions for the interview and appointment of lead banks for a new listing. During this event, Philippe will give his unique insights into the issue process globally, but with particular reference to market practice and transactions across the Asia-Pacific region.

Philippe's presentation will focus on the reasons why, and how, private businesses turn into listed companies; the strategies, procedures and documentation; as well as the valuation, marketing, investor base, pricing and allocation of an IPO. It also will also address post-IPO processes, including price stabilization, investor relations, as well as financing and other activities after listing.
About the Speaker:
Philippe Espinasse
Author; Independent Consultant

Philippe spent more than 19 years working as a senior investment banker for companies including S.G.Warburg (now UBS Investment Bank), Macquarie and Nomura. Throughout his career, he has successfully completed more than 140 corporate finance transactions, including many billion-dollar privatisation and private sector IPOs, equity and equity-linked fund raisings, real estate investment trusts, infrastructure funds, principal and pre-IPO investments, M&A and advisory transactions, euro - and domestic bond issues and debt private placements.

He has marketed to issuers, and/or executed, capital markets offerings across some 30 jurisdictions, His writings have been published in the South China Morning Post, the Wall Street Journal, and on the website of BBC News among other publications. He also frequently appears on the BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg Television as well as on Hong Kong's RTHK radio.
Philippe is a member of the EU,Hong Kong and Macau Financial Services Business Council, a Fellow (FHKSI) of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute and a Fellow (FHKIoD) of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors. He is the founder, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of consultancy P&C Ventures Limited, and an Independent, Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of a financial institution listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. He previously served as a Board member of Macquarie (Hong Kong) Limited.
