About the Event:

In this luncheon event organized by the Financial Services Committee, industry leading experts Thomas Crampton from Ogilvy & Mather and Robert Stewart from UBS will discuss how social media and other disruptive technologies are completely changing the financial services industry and explain the profound and disruptive changes they will have in the coming decade.

The experts will discuss the latest trends with regards to social media strategies that are being implemented by financial services industry leaders from online brand development to social influence and will explain how these new tools can be used by financial services industry participants to generate business growth, increase operational efficiency and reduce risk.

The experts will also describe the latest new technologies and strategies, in both traditional and social media, that are being implemented in various other industries and geographies and how they can be implemented by the broad range of financial services industry participants.

Thomas Crampton

Rob Stewart
Managing Director
Chief Communication Officer APAC, UBS AG


Rob is the Chief Communications Officer Asia Pacific for UBS based in Hong Kong. In this role, he has oversight for internal and external communications as well as branding in the region. He has previously worked as the Head of Corporate Communications Asia ex-Japan for Nomura Group Holdings and as Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Asia Pacific for Merrill Lynch.

Prior to joining the financial industry, Rob enjoyed a 17-year career in journalism writing for and editing magazines and newspapers in Hong Kong, Australia and the UK. For the past 10 years, he has been the President of Hong Kong-based charity, the Pam Baker Foundation, which focuses on the education needs of displaced children in Asia.

Rob received a Bachelor's Degree from University College London and a Mastersin History from Monash University in Australia. Born in the UK, Rob is an Australian citizen who has lived in Hong Kong for 22 of the past 26 years.
