About the event:

Language, culture, logistics and business processes can often be a barrier in dealing successfully with international companies. This is especially true when the business is located in a foreign country.

Foreign investment was strongly encouraged by the various levels of the Chinese government, primarily in the form of joint ventures.  The scope of foreign businesses in China has been magnificent.

Find out at the event as our two speakers share stories on how Canadian businesses have broken these barriers and are thriving in the Chinese market.

About the speakers:

Ronald H. Ball
Founder of EHC Global Inc.

Currently celebrating their 38thanniversary, Ronald, with a foundation in mechanical engineering (Ryerson Polytechnical University, Toronto) and business study (Durham College) has built his Canadian enterprise from scratch (with only one employee) in 1977 with its core values in customer service and product innovation. Market dominance was achieved in North America within ten years with plants in USA and Canada. Europe followed thereafter with a start up in Germany in 1992.

Attention turned to China in the 90’s where the Lift industry was forming a strong supply base. Ronald took residence in Shanghai in 1997 to lead the Shanghai operations and to learn first hand the success formula for Sino business activities. Operations in China now lead the company’s global output, profits and growth rate. Seventy percent of the world’s elevators and escalators are now made in China.

With operations in 17 countries, EHC’s head office continues to be in Oshawa, Canada, where manufacturing and global R&D continue. EHC owns more than one hundred patents world wide.
