About the Event:

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong invites you to participate in a luncheon event where the stage will be  given to Softlayer –  George Karidis who is their Chief Strategy Officer (P.S. he is Canadian too) and Casey Lau who is the SoftLayer Catalyst startup program Community Development Manager for APAC (also Canadian).

Softlayer, an IBM company with a sizable product and program range is perhaps the most publicized for being the infrastructure company behind startups such as WhatsApp, Path, Tumblr and FitBit.

For this luncheon this dynamic duo will share insights into Softlayers' global data centers network, with one just opened in HK already and more to come in Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney as well as their incubation program.

George and Casey will also reveal what it takes to not only establish these kinds of offerings but how to maintain them in order to keep them relevant and attractive in an increasingly competitive world.

Attendees will learn more about:
  • The trials and tribulations of opening data centres in Asia.
  • The benefits of running a technology based startup from Hong Kong.
  • Stories of tech startup growth from the Softlayer point of view.
  • Q&A on pitching business ideas from mentors at leading global accelerators like TechStars and ChinaAccelerator
This will also be a great opportunity to pick the brains of two highly connected individuals.

They are here for one lunch only but it promises to be an unforgettable one.
