Tournament Details and Contest

Grand Tournament
Individual Contests:

  • Men's Longest Drive = Hole #8
  • Women's Longest Drive = Hole #15
  • Closest to Pin = Hole #4 and #12

Stroke Play with New Peoria Handicap System. 6 holes will be drawn at the Dinner to be excluded with the player's scores on the remaining 12 holes determining the player's Handicap for the tournament. The player's net score will be calculated based on this derived handicap.

Net Score = Players Gross Score - Players Calculated Handicap

Peoria Formula for Calculating Players' Handicaps
HANDICAP = [(Total Score at the 12 Secret Holes x 1.5) - 70] x 0.8

Local Club Rules and The Rules of Golf of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews will apply. For Speed of Play, players will kindly pick up the ball once maximum allowable strokes are reached. All scores should be marked in actual number of strokes and not '-1', '0', +1', and so forth.

Beat the Pro Contest:

In this contest, players can bid and attempt to beat the pro’s tee-off shot in proximity to the hole. Players who bid and are victorious against PGA Pro, James Robbins, will be entered into the final draw for 25% of the total wagered pot!

- Held on a par-3 course.

- Guest must wager from a minimum amount of $200.

- Draw and prizes are made at the prize presentation.

James Robbins

PGA of America Member, Full Member of HKPGA, Qualified Professional Golf Instructor since 1980

James Robbins has been a qualified professional golf instructor since 1980 and is a PGA of America Member as well as a Full Member of HKPGA. He was a medalist in the USPGA S.W. Section Qualifying in 1981 and in 1988 he was a record holder of -7 for the 9 holes course at Painted Mountain Golf Resort in Arizona. Risk-Reward Circle:

In this contest, a large circle/square is painted on the ground 80-100 yards from the tee-off on a challenging par-4 hole. If the player aims at the circle/square and hits their ball into the circle/square and its stays inside, that player is now at 0 strokes, thus hitting stroke #1 on the following shot. If the player aims at the circle and misses the circle, that player is at 1 stroke, thus hitting stroke #2 on the following shot.

- Betting amount is $300
- Any club can be used to hit the target circle/square
- Birdies pay double, pars pay $200.
