After a brief overview of the current economy in China, the General Manager of New World Department Store China Ltd will discuss historical luxury sales trend and the effect of the latest central government policy’s on the retail market. He will further discuss on the retail market in Beijing and Shanghai, what do Chinese costumers want and the opportunities that lie ahead for NWDS. K11, a global high-end lifestyle brand operator under New World Group, will then share its insights on the retail trends in China in 2014, while discussing the opportunities and challenges of online shopping, mobile apps, the rising demand of personalized services and how do retailers and shopping mall operators deal with various issues.
About the Speakers
Mr Albert Lam, General Manager (Commercial) – New World Department Store China Limited
Mr. Albert Lam has more than 16 years of commercial real estate experience in both Hong Kong and China market.
Started in 1997 as a research analyst in one of the big five international property consultancy in Hong Kong, Albert had worked himself up to become the research department head of the agency in the year 2000. During the period, he had taken part in a number of commercial property consultancy projects together with his company’s retail agency department.
In 2003, Albert moved onto the retail leasing field. Since then, he had participated in lots of retail projects with positioning from international luxury to community centers that carry major international fast fashion and entertainment anchors.
Albert joined New World Department Store China Ltd in 2014. He has a Bachelor degree double majoring in Economic & Statistics at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada, and is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Shopping Center Management (ISCM).
Ms Joyce Ng, Senior Manager (Leasing) – K11
Ms Joyce Ng has more than 14 years of experience in leading developers.
She has a Postgraduate Diploma, Surveying (Real Estate Development) and a Master of Science, Real Estate (Surveying) at the University of Hong Kong.
She became Senior Manager for K11, the world’s first original brand to pioneer the blend of three essential elements of Art ∙ People ∙ Nature, in June 2011 and she has specialized in shopping center leasing and management, as well as in valuation and development. She has also been involved in multiple projects in both Hong Kong and China at different stages.
