About the Event:

Brought to you by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce's Natural Resources Committee, the valuation of mines and mineral resources is a subject that has come under increasing scrutiny. Recent incidents where the valuation of mining assets owned by listed companies are challenged highlights the importance of valuation especially in Asia. For investors, it is crucial to understand the valuation methodologies used by companies in order to evaluate potential investments properly. For acquirers, it is important to know how to model and value these assets properly to understand their true underlying economic value. What are some common valuation methodologies? What are some of the ways value can be manipulated by other parties? What are the proper standards, methodologies and best practices? What should we look for in terms of valuation for sound investments? How does the VALMIN code and Hong Kong Exchange Chapter 18 rules apply to valuation? This seminar aims to cover these topics and give participants a greater understanding in mineral asset valuation.
