Event:The Financial Services Committee would like to invite you to an evening of discussion, idea sharing and networking with other members of the Canadian Financial Community of Hong Kong.
We will be joined by our special guest of honor, Mr. Ross O'Brien, the Hong Kong Director of the Economist Corporate Network and a globally acclaimed speaker and moderator at more than 100 events a year. With the research, wisdom and frankness of The Economist behind him, Ross has a style that is both educational and entertaining.
We will discuss why concerns about "slowdown” of Asian economies are now commonplace across the global financial media whilst many of us in Asia are skeptical – surely China growing at 7% is actually pretty good news, as if Western economies could match this pace then we would all be celebrating in style. Or is there a deeper reality that Asian economies can no longer continue to expand if the rest of the World is stuck in no, or low growth? And should we hunker down, amend business models, and be more selective about where we look to invest and grow?
The mission of the Financial Services Committee is to become the premier forum for members of the financial services community of Hong Kong by bringing together members of the broad financial services industry of Hong Kong including the asset management, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge fund, wholesale and retail banking, wealth management, and insurance industries. We look forward to seeing you all at our event!
