Alison Nankivell
Vice President, Global Scaling
BDC Capital
Business Development Bank of Canada    

Alison Nankivell currently serves as Vice President, Global Scaling for BDC Capital, the risk capital subsidiary of the BDC. Based in Hong Kong, she leads BDC Capital’s cross border venture strategy to support its most high potential investee companies to grow both their business and investment partners in the Asia region. Prior to this, she served as Vice President, Funds and Co‑investment, heading up a national venture program encompassing more than 60 fund relationships and close to $1 billion in assets under management.

At BDC, Alison has also served as Vice President of Co-investment and Government Initiatives where she led BDC Capital’s efforts as the key execution agent for the Government of Canada’s Venture Capital Action Plan. Before joining BDC, Alison served as Director, Funds Asia with Teachers’ Private Capital, the private investment arm of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

Prior to this, she was Head of Funds at Export Development Canada (EDC), where over a seven year period she built out the Canadian and Asian private equity and venture capital fund investment platform for EDC’s Investments Team. During her 15‑year tenure with EDC, Alison served in a number of financing and investment roles and spent seven years over two postings based in Beijing, first as Chief Representative for Greater China, and then as Principal and Head of Asia Fund Investments.
 
Alison also lived in Beijing and Hong Kong from 1990 to 1995, where she served as a China economic analyst and editor for the Economist Intelligence Unit. Fluent in Mandarin, she has also served as an independent economist undertaking consulting work for the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Development Program and CIDA the Canadian International Development Agency in both Beijing and Ottawa.


Ted Lee
Senior Portfolio Manager, External Portfolio Management, Investment Partnerships
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Asia Inc. 

Ted Lee is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board overseeing the development of their Asia Pacific exposure. Prior to joiningCPPIB he was a Managing Director at Blackstone in the Funds of Hedge Fund Solutions team based in Hong Kong, where he had been involved in Asian hedge fund manager evaluation, selection and monitoring. He also served on BAAM's Investment Committee.

Prior to Blackstone, Mr. Lee was the Senior Portfolio Manager for SPARX Asset Management’s fund of funds based in Hong Kong. Over the eight years with that firm, he was responsible for manager selection and monitoring, and portfolio management. From 1997 through 2001, Mr. Lee was the Chief Financial Officer of Legacy Advisors in Hong Kong, where he oversaw both investment and noninvestment activities. Previously, Mr. Lee was Asia’s Regional Controller for Philips Electronics, where he oversaw the operations of the Asian Treasury function. Mr. Lee began his career at KPMG as an auditor in New York.

Mr. Lee received a BS in Accounting and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Public Accountant.


Ignatius K. K. (Iggy) Chong

Head of Private Banking,
Greater China RBC Wealth Management

Ignatius K. K. (Iggy) Chong is Managing Director, Head of Private Banking for Greater China at RBC Wealth Management in Hong Kong. Iggy re-joined the Royal Bank of Canada in August 2014, prior to which Iggy held a number of senior roles at Coutts including Hong Kong Market Head and Chair of Family Business and Philanthropy initiatives. His career at Royal Bank of Canada included roles in Personal, Commercial and Private Banking starting in Vancouver in 1982 and leading to his posting in Hong Kong in 1990 as Business Manager to the Regional Manager at that time.

Emigrating from Singapore to Canada in 1977, Iggy graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance. He obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1996, and is a fellow member of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB).

Iggy has a long history of service to the Canadian community particularly to UBC where he is Past President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association and current Chair of the UBC Alumni Hong Kong Leadership Council. He is an active committee member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and long time member of the Vancouver Board of Trade.

Married with three children, Iggy's other pursuits include being cofounder of a running club which organizes the iconic Victoria to Peak Challenge in Hong Kong.

Olivia Ouyang

Olivia Ouyang

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Asia) Limited 

Olivia Ouyang joined Ontario Teachers' Hong Kong office in 2014 as Director, Funds.

Olivia started her career with McKinsey & Company China and Morgan Stanley Asia, and has over 13 years of private equity investment experience. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Olivia was a Managing Director with China Investment Corporation (CIC), where she was responsible for private equity fund investment, co-investment and direct investment, in Europe and in Global Emerging Markets respectively. Before CIC, Olivia was a Senior Investment Officer with the International Finance Corporation (IFC)'s Private Equity and Investment Funds Group, and covered Greater China, Southeast Asia and India consecutively.  

Olivia holds a BA with Honors in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Chris Marschall

Chris Marschall has been a capital markets and investment banker for more than 20 years. Based in Hong Kong since 2011, he has worked for more than 5 years at a leading Asian investment bank, CIMB Securities where he was Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets Origination and Syndication for North Asia.  Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Chris worked in London and Continental Europe for 15 years, primarily for the Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN Amro / Rothschild.

In these roles, Chris has advised corporate and public sector issuers on nearly 100 private and public equity deals, and provided strategic advice to many companies on dual track processes. He has built trusted relationships with leading asset managers (long-only, hedge funds), private equity, venture capital and family offices globally.

Born and raised in Canada, Chris is a graduate of the Ivey Business School’s HBA programme and became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 1998.  He is also very active in the Canadian community in Hong Kong, including with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce where he is Co-Chair of the Financial Services Committee.
