About the Seminar: 

The Financial Secretary has in his past 3 years budget speeches kept reminding taxpayer that Hong Kong will continue to combat tax evasion and avoidance. With that in mind, Inland Revenue Department (IRD) is stepping up their effort adopting a tougher approach in their handling of the field audit and investigation cases. Last year we have examine the basic background of the tax audit in Hong Kong; this year we will look into some new development in IRD file selections. Furthermore the speaker will share his experience in handling tax audit in Hong Kong using case study especially in the current Fund Manager audit.

Mr. Philip Hung, Executive Director, Tax Policy & Controversy, EY who has over 27 years in helping clients to resolve tax audit cases. He will take you through the IRD recent development in Tax Audit area. Using a practical step by step approach to demonstrate the different strategies and ways to handle a tax audit, he will also take us through the ways to formulate the tax settlement strategy.  Furthermore, Mr.  Hung will also share his experience on the audit of a  Fund Management business.
