In this session, you will have any opportunity to discuss with Dr. Justin Chiu, Executive Director of Cheung Kong Property Holdings Limited, at a lunch event hosted by the CanChamHK's Property Committee.

In 2016, we expect a correction in the real estate market in Hong Kong. We will be exploring whether Hong Kong is headed a soft landing based on the recent market events, which includes: 

  • Slowdown in the Mainland economy
  • Expected appreciation of the HKD, due to its peg to the USD 
  • Anticipated launch of the Shenzhen Hong Kong Stock Connect

About the Speaker:

Dr. Justin Chiu
Executive Director, Cheung Kong Property Holdings Limited

Joined the Cheung Kong Group in 1997, was appointed as an Executive Director and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Company in 2015. He serves roles as Chairman, Director, and Manager in several of ARA Asset Management and ARA Fund Management entities including in Singapore and Hong Kong. He was previously an Executive Director and a Member of the Executive Committee of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited and Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited.
 
Dr. Chiu has more than 30 years of international experience in real estate in Hong Kong and various countries. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the 12th Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of the People's Republic of China, the Board of Governors of Hong Kong Baptist Administrators, and the Board of Governors of Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation. Moreover, he is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators. He holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Economics, and was conferred with the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa by Hong Kong Baptist University and the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa by Trent University, Canada.
