About the Event:

The Women's Network is proud to present the second Our Successful Canadian Women series, celebrating Women in the Environment and honouring Anne Copeland, Dr Jeanne Ng and Lisa Christensen. Come join us to hear their inspiring sharing about how these three Canadian women have contributed to the environment and sustainable development in Hong Kong over the years, and a discussion of what we can all do to further the sustainability of our community as individuals, as professionals and together through the Chamber.

 

Agenda:
Opening remarks by Elizabeth Thomson, Founder and Chairwoman, The Women's Network, Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

Presentations by Lisa Christensen, Jeanne Ng and Anne Copeland

 

Our speakers will share their:

  • journeys -as women making a difference to the environment and the community in HK, and where there are now personally and professionally and their impact; and
  • tips - to women working in the field, and to all people as individuals and/or part of a company to make a difference in raising awareness and improving the environment.

Discussion moderated by Anne Copeland.

Closing remarks by Jodi Robinson,Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao.

Ms Anne Copeland
Managing Director and Sustainability Advisor, Copeland & Partners Ltd

 

Anne Copeland has 28 years of experience in sustainability risk management, strategy implementation and reporting. She leads an independent consultancy, Copeland & Partners, was formerly an Environment and Social Specialist with the International Finance Corporation, and was a founding member of the HKSAR Council for SD’s Strategy Sub-committee, GRI’s Stakeholder Council, the HK Business Coalition on the Environment, and led Cancham’s SD Committee for its first 7 years and remains an Advisor to the Committee. She has led courses at the University of HK and earned a MA in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto and a BA (Honours) in Political Science from McGill University.

Dr. Jeanne Ng
Director - Group Sustainability, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited

 

Dr. Jeanne Ng is responsible for CLP Group's sustainability matters, including sustainability-related strategy, reporting and communications. She holds a BSc in Toxicology from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong.She was also a member of the Working Group of the International Integrated Reporting Council as well as the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.

Lisa Christensen
Founder & CEO, Ecozine

 

A social entrepreneur, Lisa is the founder and CEO of the 16-year established Hong Kong Cleanup, through which she has engaged over 350,000 participants, and cleaned up over 17 million kgs of trash off Hong Kong's beautiful coastline and hiking trails. She launched Ecozine in 2014, which is an award-winning lifestyle magazine, redefining luxury and promoting sustainability globally. She is regularly invited to speak at conferences around the world, such as the Goldman Sachs International Women's Forum and Tedx to name a couple.
