The rise of a new Silk Road from China to the Middle East promises to be one of this century's greatest stories. It includes some of the world's largest
oil producers and wealthiest investors and is home to more than half the world's population and the majority of its Islamic population. During the luncheon, Mr. Simpfendorfer will speak about the rise of the US$10,000 billion Silk Road economy and will
address the rapid development of trade and business between China and the Middle East. He will examine the importance of oil and Islam to the Silk Road economy, and will address how the Middle East′s investors are increasingly looking for investments
opportunities in China. Mr. Simpfendorfer will also explore what the Silk Road economy will look like in a decade from now, where the opportunities lie for foreign and local companies, and what are the implications for the West.
