The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Ottawa recently released a strategy paper outlining specific recommendations of how Canada can work to take full advantage of China’s growth as a huge force in the trade and investment worlds.
Ms. Hughes Anthony will discuss:
• Resource sector issues
• Canada´s image, visibility and presence in China
• Service sector barriers
• Financial capacity
• Constraints on financial transactions
• Canada-China tourism

Prior to her arrival at the Canadian Chamber in 1998, Ms. Hughes Anthony gained senior experience in the federal and provincial governments as well as the private sector, having served as a federal deputy minister, a senior advisor to the government of Prince Edward Island and as a corporate vice-president. A sought after speaker at national and international forums, Ms. Hughes Anthony is recognized by government and business as a leading voice on business issues.
She has received the Women’s Executive Network Top 100 Most Powerful Women Award and has been selected several times by the National Post as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Business Women in Canada. Association and Director Meeting Magazine has called her “one of Canada’s most influential association leaders.” The Montreal-born Ms. Hughes Anthony graduated from McGill University with a general arts degree. She has lived and worked in Germany and in Mexico, and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
