Andrew Freris
Senior Investment Strategist, Asia, BNP Paribas Wealth Management
He joined BNP-Paribas in October 2000 as chief economist for Asia-Pacific for the Fixed
Income
and Treasury Group.
Prior to that he was managing director, Asia Research, Bank of America (1997-2000),
director and chief regional economist for Asia with Salomon Brothers (1993-1997) and
director, senior economist with GT (Asia) Ltd
1990-1993 where in addition to Asian
economies he also covered Latin America.
Dr. Freris taught at the London Guildhall University from 1968-1984 as a principal lecturer
and at the City University of Hong Kong (1985-1990) where he was
the head of the
Economics and Finance Department.
Dr. Freris holds degrees from the London School of Economics and has been living
continuously in Hong Kong since 1985. Honorary economist of the French Chamber.
