I have been with Robert Walters for over 14 years, working both in London and Hong Kong. Currently working as a Director of Robert Walters Hong Kong, I am leading the teams in the areas of: Legal and compliance, Commerce Finance, and Contract Recruitment. Prior to this, I worked as a lawyer for an international law firm in Australia, and advanced as an in-house lawyer for NASDAQ listed software companies in London. I was a candidate looking for opportunities through Robert Walters before they offered me a role in legal recruitment as they were hiring professionals from industry into recruitment.

2. What is the greatest strength of your organisation?

Robert Walters is a world-leading specialist professional recruitment brand. We foster the greatest bond of teamwork, everyone gets rewarded as a team through our non-commission base model, and it is at the heart of our business, culture and success.

As a team we focus to provide a bespoke, consultative service to our candidates and clients. We form a comprehensive network across a diverse range of industries, which means our candidates will have a wider selection of the best roles in the market, and our clients will have access to the best suitable candidates for their roles.

3. In your mind, what sets your organisation apart from the competition?

We provide a clear differentiation based on the quality of service delivered to our clients and our candidates. We act with integrity and focus on team-work. These core values are the foundations of our business.

Our group’s strategy for growth is centred on international expansion and discipline diversification. What makes us different is our drive to grow successful futures. We develop careers of our own staff, our candidates’ future prospects through finding them the right jobs in the market and also help our clients hire the right talent to successfully grow their business.

4. What challenges have you overcome in your career journey?

Being persistent and resilient is one of the biggest challenges given that we are in the people business. In a lot of instances things can be out of your control. It is important to understand the underlying motivations of your candidates and also ensure you have excellent relationships with your clients to manage the process carefully on both sides. Our job comes a lot with being able to handle rejection and not taking things personally, and with the goal to provide consultation and best solutions through professional, trustworthy and honest advice.
